Meet the Members

Emma Shi began studying the Guzheng at the age of 8 and has since developed into a skilled and versatile musician, also proficient in piano and flute. She actively participates in multiple ensembles and is dedicated to sharing her musical knowledge by teaching Guzheng classes in two different towns.

In both 2023 and 2024, Emma received the Best Stage Performance Award at the Boston International Music Competition. In 2025, she was a prize winner at the Eighth Hua Yue Cup International Competition and the Excellence Award in the BCMA competition.

To date, Emma has delivered over 100 live performances across 16 towns in multiple U.S. states, inspiring diverse communities through her music.

Emma Shi 8岁开始学习古筝，现已成长为技艺精湛的多才音乐家，同时擅长钢琴与长笛。她积极参与各类合奏团体，并致力于通过教学培养新一代音乐人才。2023年与2024年，Emma连续荣获波士顿国际音乐比赛“最佳舞台表现奖”。2025年，她在第八届华乐杯国际比赛中获金奖。迄今为止，Emma已完成100余场现场演出，足迹遍及美国多个州的16个城镇，通过音乐促进跨文化交流，服务并联结多元社区。

Lois (Lolo) Tolstoypatenko is a performing artist who began studying the Chinese guzheng at the age of five. She performs both traditional Asian repertoire and popular Western pieces on the guzheng. Her expressive and joyful performances often evoke a sense of warmth and childhood innocence in audiences. She also began piano studies at age five under piano master Elena Shagalov Drabkin and has since performed in multiple recitals.

In addition to music, she started ballroom dance training at age five and has competed in numerous events, earning multiple first-, second-, and third-place awards. She particularly enjoys Cha-Cha and Samba. Creative and imaginative, she enjoys crafting and exploring artistic expression across multiple disciplines.

Lois (Lolo) Tolstoypatenko 5 岁开始学习中国古筝。她擅长演奏传统亚洲曲目及流行西方作品，在这件拥有 2500 年历史的乐器上展现出独特的艺术魅力。她的演出富有表现力与童真，常常为观众带来温暖与纯真的美好感受。她同时于 5 岁开始学习钢琴，并已参加多场钢琴演奏会。除音乐外，她还于 5 岁开始接受拉丁舞训练, 曾多次参加舞蹈比赛, 并获得多个第一、第二及第三名奖项。她尤为喜爱恰恰舞（Cha-Cha）和桑巴舞（Samba）。她富有创造力与想象力, 热爱手工创作, 并在多个艺术领域中探索与表达自我。
